-4 Snaps! Strongly reccomended
So Gourmet is purely French. It offers French cuisine and is owned by French nationals. The food is fresh and very good especially the bakery items (the croissants rock!)
I had the Spinach and Goat Cheese Quiche. It offered a very flakey pastry crust, generous portions of spinach, the right amount of egg, but could have used much more cheese. The dish included mixed greens salad with balsamic vinaigrette dressing that was tangy but not over the top acidic. The greens were fresh and crispy.
The Croque monsieur, the French version of a ham and cheese sandwich is simple and well executed here. The accompanying potatoes are brown and crispy.
They serve a limited selection of wine, draft and bottled beer, and regular and espresso coffee.
So Gourmet seems to struggle with not having enough staff to run efficiently though, as they have not been open for dinner for some time after parting ways with their French born chef. They have yet to hire a replacement and the owners serve as kitchen and wait staff.
