-2 Snaps! Not Recommended
There's a new(er) Mexican place in town, and I went to try it. We already have Chipotle, Taco Bell, Moe's, Taco Bus, California Taco, bartaco, Taco Son, and a half a dozen others. If Chronic Taco is thinking it can compete, it better bring it. It doesn't.
Parking is challenging but possible. The interior is bright and modern with plenty of seating available. I order the Pollo Asado Torta with refried beans and guac ($8.25). It is served on bread similar to Pita. It's a nice start with good flavor in the chicken balanced well with the beans and guacamole. But that's as far as the good stuff went. The Beer Battered Mahi Taco ($4.25 ea.) looks like a good combo but struggles to have enough fish flavor because of the small thin strip of white fish. It needs more fish to make this taco happen. Churros ($2.00) are 3 inch "bites" tucked nicely in a cup. They visibly resemble traditional churros but are bready, cold, and oily. The Veggie Chronic Fries ($6.50) are a soggy mess. Adding guac, beans, and cheese on top helps but the underlying potatoes are limp and flavorless. We toss most of it.
With dozens of taco competitors, if you're gonna compete you best bring the 'A' game. Chronic Tacos misses the mark
