-4 Snaps! Strongly reccomended
This restaurant is unique and has been through a few name changes. The current store front is a little confusing because it's hard to tell if it is a bakery (The Bake) or an Italian restaurant (NOI). Turns out, it depends on what time of day you get there. It's off the beaten path at the very south end of Bayshore Blvd in a strip center
-4 Snaps! Strongly recommended
Thai Island is not just about the food, but also the atmosphere. It is located on toney Davis Islands in the heart of it's business district. Sitting outside on cooler evenings brings a nice casual "island" kind of feel. The food is good.
-5 Snaps! You MUST go!
Flames is an inviting South Tampa restaurant taking over the space once occupied by Subway. If you are looking for authentic Indian food prepared to perfection, this is the place. It gets a full 5 Snaps from this reviewer. The owners did a nice job on the interior remodel, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere replete with tin tiled ceiling and warm wood tones. The menu is divided by protein (chicken, lamb, sea food) along with vegetarian dishes and choices between accompanying sauces including a great curry.
-3 Snaps! Try it. You might like it.
Zudar's is another Tampa staple that has been through a few iterations. In it's current form it has less of it's former deli menu and is more of a sandwich shop mixed with sport's bar.
I had the Yankee (Rye bread, turkey breast, swiss cheese, cole slaw, 1000 island, deli mustard. $9.99).
