Soho Sushi is So Oh Good

Sushi is a staple in my life, so I have very high expectations. On my last visit I ordered the house Ginger salad ($3.00) and the Hurricane Roll ($13.00). When the Ginger salad arrived I was somewhat disappointed. It is obviously pre-made, as the dressing has settled on the lettuce and in the bottom of the bowl. Nonetheless, the dressing was peanut-ty and tasty and the lettuce still relatively crispy. The Hurricane roll was not much to look at as sushi goes. It was oddly plate over to one side of the dish and not professionally presented. My understanding is that most sushi chefs take great pride not only in the preparation but also the presentation of their dishes. Again, however, the taste was pretty good. My table made ordered the build-your-own sushi burrito ($10.00)-a large piece of seaweed lined with rice and your selection of ingredients. It was really good! It comes with your choice of soup or salad. Bottom line is that South Tampa comes with many sushi choices. While I think Soho Sushi is in the top five, with a few tweaks it could be at the top of the list.
