#11. Add A Human Element

Adding hands or other human elements to a shot adds interest and helps viewers connect with what's happening.
Add a human element like hands, a server, or kitchen staff. You can use your hands or someone else’s. It gives your viewer  something to connect with. But, be careful.  People move! So you need to watch your shutter speed to keep them from blurring.

Part of service for this dish involved pouring the broth at the table. Including it in the image gives the viewer an "I was there" kind of experience

Many modern eateries haven open kitchens. They do it to bring you in to the process. Take the picture!

If you are steady handed you can hold the fork yourself, just put the camera on a tripod and timer. But, if you have someone close with attractive hands like this shot (I don't do nail polish) invite them in!

Adding a uniformed server tells a better story sometimes. These BBQ Pork Nachos are a colorful dish, but you also get the vibe of the place with Shauna being part of the shot
